‘Kill the animals’ won in a Super Metroid speedrun.
They were able to operate Samus’ ship in Fusion’s ending… Now I’m imagining an etecoon operating a laser turret on a stolen Federation craft. >:3

In Super Metroid’s ending (provided you save them) you can see a dot leaving after the explosion. Probably them in an escape pod, or something.

Taking the ending to “Fusion” into account, you basically doom yourself if you don’t rescue them.

For a long time, I didn’t know about it, ||They’re in the room where you fought the first boss, that fake Chozo statue thing. || until somebody told me.
Funny thing is, it’s sequel “Metroid Fusion” (it even calls itself “Metroid 4” in it’s intro) has that as an important plot-point, so it feels like you’re ruining the future, or something if you don’t do it now.
This year’s Summer Games Done Quick. It’s a charity event that lasts for a week, and they were doing a Super Metroid 4 way race. People vote on killing or saving the animals at the end, and they voted to kill the animals.
