Real feminism is meant to advance the social, economic, and political status of women to equal that of men’s.  
Tumblr feminism, is another story…

That used to be the case until the 1970s when right-winger Phyllis Schlafly started spreading BS about women being forced to use the same bathrooms as men among other “horrors”.  
It’s thanks to media bra-burner stereotypes and right-wing propaganda that feminism became a dirty word that was later hijacked by attention whoring SJWs and McFeminists. I’m all for equality between the sexes and races but the white-guilt authoritarian approach used by these people is extremely counter-productive.

In theory yes, in practice…not so much.

I feel that the goal of feminism has always been to advance the position of women in society. There was a time when they needed that, but I think they’ve overreached at this point which is why they’re now facing resistance.

It means different things to different people.
