She’s shy, therefore maniacal. That trope probably has a name someplace. X3
Ok but that’s not the same poison ivy is really seductive and can control plants with her mind and people as well and more… fluttershy is shy and can understand and speak to animals…. that’s it…
Maybe it’s their love of nature, though one is animals, the other is plants.
Given that Applejack was strong enough to break Luna’s telekinesis, I fear to think what Fluttershy is capable of. Her abilities would be outright broken if she wasn’t so shy.
I’m still not seeing how that’s any different than her normal mentality.
Well, they’re each evil in that they’re their flaws taken to their natural conclusion. Rarity’s vanity is out of control leading to her wanting to rule everything because she can’t bear for someone ELSE to be “higher” up than her as an example, and Applejack’s evil is stemming from her business nature being overblown to her becoming greedy.
Fluttershy in the comic has her desire to care for and protect the animals around her taken up to 11, so she appears to have ascended into an animal wrongs villain; I.E., her dialogue seems to indicate that she’s gone into the “only without Humans/ponies can animals be truly safe” mentality.
Ah, well assuming Equestria is as big as America, save a few million years of erosion, it probably takes several days to get from town to town on foot. However, since most of Equestria’s species are quadrupedal, it likely takes far less time. Plus, they have trains.
I’m sorry, I used ambiguous grammar. I meant “Equestria” can’t logically be that big.
Oh yeeeeeaaah, I forgot, though I’ve only seen the preview pages.
Admittedly, these corrupted versions of the Mane 6 are interesting.
A dip in a magical spring, that’s why.
Edited
We know that the Everfree deer are as civilized as the ponies. At least they live in communities, have leadership and a government of some sort, practice magic, etc.
So what about the deer we see serving Fluttershy? Are they non-sapient like Harry the bear (if he is non-sapient, that is), or what?
Or am I just overthinking this light-hearted comic waaaaaay too much?
They’re so excited. ;3
just a slightly less flimsy, less drug induced reason for them to be evil and this might have been a good story.
you know, something like that.
drug induced evil is just… creepy.
The forest in Fall Weather friends is East of Ponyville, the Everfree is North. Those scenes in Party Pooped took place in Appleloosa, Manehatten, and north of the Crystal Empire, all of which circumvent the Everfree’s borders. As far as I’ve seen, the only places explored so far have been Kansas (Ponyville, Canterlot), Oklahoma (Appleloosa), New York (Manehatten), Oregon (Three’s a Crowd), Central Canada (Crystal Empire), and some southern states east of the Mississippi as retconned by the second map (Daring Don’t, Somepony to Watch Over Me). Ooh, I just noticed the Mississippi dried up. While not as shocking as California being entirely destroyed in the first map, that’s pretty awesome as well. XD
Anyway, since Midwest America hasn’t been seen onscreen, I’d imagine the first and second maps being adequate indicators of the size of the Everfree. Oh, and the Sisters’ Castle is not that far from Ponyville, leaving tons of room to put Aspen’s castle somewhere in the west. X3
(Also noting Faust wanted to name Ponyville “Fillydelphia” - when it obviously has no resemblance to Philadelphia beyond a name reference - and they reused the name after Hasbro nixed it).
Even though half of Equestria’s town names (and their locations) are based on the U.S., it can’t logically be that big, going off of stuff. Obvious examples from the show that come to mind are Fallweather Friends and Party Pooped, but I’m pretty sure there are more minor examples too. Actually, haven’t we gotten some mile distances in recent IDW comics?
If so, that’s freaking awesome!
