y’know, and keep in mind i’m an avid fan of godzilla, i’d consider the 1998 godzilla movie to be more of a godzilla movie than the new american one. at least it had “godzilla” and he was, while not the star, at least the focus of the film. when you could literally chop godzilla out of the movie and it would be practically unchanged, it is not a godzilla movie.

i liked push too. same with hancock. it’s too bad they didn’t do well enough to warrant sequels. however, i’d rather that than have a sequel sit stillborn for nearly 30 years and then dumped in favor of a crappy remake with an all new cast, like a certain other movie that will feature ghosts and the act of busting them.

See every time I see people on the internet praising it, I’m just like, what is even the fuck. I have never met a single person face-to-face who had a single nice thing to say about it. It was ugly. It was unpleasant. It was crass. It was trying too hard. And it only got worse as they kept making more and more horrifying live-action and shitty CGI Seuss movies.

honestly, film critics can be pretty dumb at times.
 
case in point, godzilla 2014. a two hour and three minute movie. godzilla comprises 8 minutes total of that. that means godzilla is in SEVEN PERCENT of the movie. critics praised this as “artistic and creative” instead of lambasting it like they should have.
 
my only real question to determine if a movie is good or not is “did it entertain?” even a horrid movie like bloodrayne or the room is pretty damned entertaining, so i personally class them as successes.

I honestly think there isn’t a single person that doesn’t like Jim Carrey’s the Grinch… Other than critics, maybe. Everyone I know loves it, if there is someone that doesn’t like them, I have yet to meet them.

well the whole movie has hideous makeup (save for the grinch who looks amazing), awful acting, a ton of really inappropriate jokes considering it’s based on dr. seuss…
 
but at the same time, for as bad as it is, i honestly love it. it’s up there with judge dredd (stallone version), tmnt: secret of the ooze, and movies like that. just fun to watch even though it is, by definition, a bad movie.
