After the crowning ceremony, Emperor Tibbles led all of Equestria into a new Golden Age, which would last more than a century. He, as well as his direct descendants, were venerated as the fairest rulers the ponies had been blessed with since the time of the Founders. (The teacher formerly known as Princess Celestia made certain her many, many students were aware of this fact.)
 
At first, Luna and Celestia were kept on retainer as counselors to the new Emperor, but as time went by and his rule strengthened, they were called upon less and less. Eventually, the sisters finally had ample time to spend on their hobbies. Luna became one of Equestria’s most prolific inventors, and Celestia devoted her life to her one true passion: teaching.
 
Twilight was somewhat disappointed, at first, that the title of ‘Princess’ was no longer recognized, but her new position as Curator of the Royal Library more than made up for it. She held the position for more than a century before stepping aside for her successor: the great-great-granddaughter of one Trixie Lulamoon.
 
Cadence and Shining Armor made the Crystal Empire their permanent home, and signed a into a mutual defense alliance with Equestria, as well as the Gryphons, the Minotaurs, the Dragons, and the Yaks.
 
Even though he’d lived among ponies all his life, Spike eventually felt the call to return to the Dragon Lands. He struck up an unlikely friendship with the current Dragon Lord, and though he, himself, never felt the desire to rule, he provided Ember with invaluable counsel on how to enter into an alliance with Equestria. He never lost touch with his six closest friends, visiting them every chance he got. When only Twilight was left, Spike stepped down as advisor to the Dragon Lord and returned to the side of his oldest friend.
 
Blueblood refused to accept that a marsupial from the Everfree Forest was eligible for the throne. He attempted to incite rebellion, and was turned in to the authorities less than an hour later. When given the choice, rather than exile or execution, the former Prince opted to serve in the Royal Castle. He was responsible for cleaning the Palace Kitchens until his retirement 35 years later.
