My theoretical cartoon would also have bisexual, asexual, and straight people represented, and that’s before we even get to tumblr’s 38 different gender identities. I’d be visually showing it through some heavy friendship.

If I ever made a cartoon, I’d show two characters doing everything together and enjoying each others company as much as living things really can. Viewers will either assume they’re a couple, or that they’re related. Yep, just make everything really ambiguous.

I’d say Garnet (aka Sapphire + Ruby) is closer; and given that there’s been gay couples portrayed as the parents of a kid in a couple of cartoons, I’d say it’s only a matter of time before a lesbian couple is shown in that role.

It’s implied so heavily and shown with the subtlety of a sledgehammer you’d have to be either blind or dense not to see they are together without outright saying they are gay.

The fact the person decided to go back and say “wow so many bronies in denial lol” makes me doubt the legitimacy of this being a joke. Sounds like a tumblrina making a very forced meme trying to seem inclusive or funny, but it isn’t in any way shape or form. It’s just vapid self-absorption. There’s a ton of people who ship gay ships and act like they’re somehow better for not shipping something straight, and this is exactly how they act.
