I meant that I didn’t think two female partners could produce a male offspring, since they only have Xs to give, but huh, I wasn’t aware of that second part. I’ll have to look into that further.
Y-chromosomes are not necessary for babies. Remember, in gametes, the chromasomes are divided and they (usually) only receive one set of sex chromosomes (though rare exceptions do occur, like XX or YY or XY in a single sperm.)
Further, female eggs can be turned into male gametes in the lab, this has been done successfully. It’s pretty fucking cool - and if we can do it, why can’t they with magic?
