Aging more slowly is a possibility. It raises the question of whether age or experience greater dictate intelligence. If it’s purely age, yeah. If it’s more experience, then you could have a small filly with the intelligence and wisdom of an old mare.
 
Or if it’s some combination, say, where muscle memory and coordination are age based but mental ability is experience, then you could have a strange combination of the earlier two…
 
Most likely, though, I’d think it’s none of the above: She ages normally at younger ages, but hits a sort of asymptote at adulthood, where she adults, then ages slowly into princess stature, and never gets “old”.

I dunno, it looks like this regenerated Tia can’t even talk. If Tia’s lost all ability to adult, it looks like Luna may be the one doing the “changing”, if you catch my drift :P
