I have to agree with trixie here. (Weird… Sounds like I’m backing my self up LOL.) It showcases Trixie’s love for starlight as a friend, and being the overprotective(and maybe a bit jealous mare.) that trixie is, she does not fully trust sunburst. This picture was not to imply that these two were to be in love. It’s to showcase the long and dreary trust process between sunburst and trixie that will ensue. Hence the artist saying this, “But I think their relationship would develop with time…long time…” and before you go straight for the word, “relationship” it does NOT have to be specifically tied to a, “love” relationship. There’s more ships to sail than just one, but love between this two, has sunk.

Its saying that Trixie dislikes Sunburst because she doesn’t trust him and is protective of Starlight, but Trixie’s and Sunburst’s friendship will develop very slowly over time and she’ll grow to accept his friendship with Starlight, trusting that he won’t hurt her or anything. It does not indicate Trixie and Sunburst are or will in love, not even remotely.

Er. It’s called “love at first sight” and notes how their relationship develops over time into something quote unquote ‘different’. I’m not sure where you get that it can’t possibly refer to a ship between the two ponies actually depicted.

I hope people realise Trixie is telling Sunburst to not get friendly with Starlight because she’s being protective of her friend (and maybe wants Starlight to herself). This isn’t “trixburst” shipping. I can see how some might think otherwise but the artist’s description specifies it isn’t.

Hopefully she doesn’t get too overprotective… otherwise this may not end well for sunburst

Being possessive of someone else+threats=eventual romance? Huh. I had no idea that the dads of every girl I knew in high school were into me.

“Trixburst” could work. Sunset Shimmer/Trixie is already tagged “Suntrix”, so it would avoid confusion with that particular ship.
