He’s been at it on other parts of the site, and from what I’ve been told, he’s most likely the same person going around other sites posting the same sort of comments.
He popped into IRC to explain that him shitposting as anon and then going named to complain about his shitposting was “roleplaying”.
I implied no such thing; it was just the coincidence that someone posted a comment that was exactly the sort of thing Ihhh was railing against just one hour later that made me suspicious, though I framed my comment as a joke because I wasn’t sure. But yeah, I can totally see the /mlp/ denizens and other fans/“fans” like them spazzing out over Mike Vogel writing an episode.

Makes me wonder how many of the anti-Vogel comments that have cropped up lately are sincere duckery, and how many are Ihhh’s imitation duckery.

Yeah, Vogel appears to genuinely know and love the ponies, more so than probably any other Hasbro employee. And even his lack of previous writing experience doesn’t bother me, since Haber and the others at DHX always go over submitted scripts anyway to make sure they’re reasonably consistent with each other.

New writers also wrote TGoMP.
Oh yeah, the Fox Brothers. At least they WATCHED some of the previous shows and studied how it should be written.
Nick confalone and Meghan McCarthy were also writers for Fish hooks and their episodes weren’t that bad.
The Gift of Maud Pie was written by TWO newbie writers, and it’s currently my favorite episode this season.
Yeah, we all knew we were in trouble after realizing he was a Fish Hooks writer.
Just to point out only new writer that really disappointed me was Neal Dusedau.
Vogels been around forever, this is just his first actual SCRIPT for the show.
I liked it too.
Vogel has actually been involved with MLP for some time though.
well most of the comments were positive. But lot of people said it was cringey episode. Me too, but i still liked it. There were more people with my opinion.
