Yeah, no, for me the worst part by far is the anticipation. The first few times I’ve gotten fillings I had to get the nitrous oxide just to calm down enough to start. The second time I mentioned how much the needle was the worst part, so the next two times the guy simply went slowly and I didn’t feel it at all, though its rather stressful trying to keep yourself still for like 10 seconds at a time while they’ve got the needle there.
 
I don’t think I’d go for the nox again though because last time I got so high that I lost all sense of time and was mentally stuck in a 3 second time loop for a terrifying mini-eternity.

To this day, I cringe and my teeth itch whenever I hear a dentist drill.

I remember having the inside of my tooth burned with a red-hot metal rod. Everything smelled like burnt flesh. Good times.

Oh god, when I had my first few teeth removed. Tis one of the most terrifying things I had to go through.

The procedure itself is tolerable. Enduring that damn needle beforehand is what tested my sanity. Nothing like having a big metal spike rammed into your gums and then wiggled around in random directions.

My word. I’d sooner perish than have dental surgery. It’s the most painful thing imaginable.
