As Jon Jafari once said: “This is the face of someone who’s seeing some shit”.
Secretly the staff is covered in Poison dart frog venom; you get a heck of a high by holding that thing.
>Late
What are you talking about, Spock isn’t dead, he’s just in an alternate realty….
I’m not sad, YOU’RE SAD.. T_T
As the Late and Great Mister Spock would say….
OK, here’s my logic (again):
There is no visual difference between princess and lord ember. (unlike with (Princess) Twilight, for example).
So moving away from the episode: In a random fanart, HOW would you decide what to tag?
I don’t have a answere for that. (The staff doesn’t count for me. We have no idea if she always carries it around now or not).
Until then: one tag.
And the official name, given by the credits is “Princess Ember”.
At least that is my opinion on the matter.
>But can’t we just use logic?
We are, that’s why we go with the “offical’ one from the credits and not just any name people want if it is given as soon as we get the new character.
People that might not know the name can be given proof of the name by showing them a screencap of the credits.
Sure, but do you really think they would gave her a double name in credits? She was a princess for 90% of the episode, so it’s no surprise that she’s credited as a princess. But can’t we just use logic?
Edited
Cases where an “offical” name didn’t happen until long after a common and wide spread fanon name was already in place.
in a case where they just showed up for the first time and named in the credits, that name overrides all.
Because in those cases, especially the Derpy one, there’s been a general consensus as to her name for a long time, and honestly, chances are the only reason they named her Muffins in episode 100 was to avoid another repeat of The Last Roundup.
Unlike with Ember the “princess twilight” tag is to help set about her as an alicorn from her as a unicorn.
Ember have nothing change beyond title.
This was explained by a mod on another post.
Edited
Emm… credits still say “Twilight Sparkle”, but we sure are using “princess twilight” tag ever since she became one. So, why Ember’s case is different?
Edited
Then we need to get rid of the “dragon lord spike” tag.
Credits counted her as princess (as fyaying reyayed as that is) so we’re doing away with the former to avoid further drama.
only because we usually don’t have a name for certain characters or correct spelling. Just think about Derpy, she isn’t named muffin in the tags, or twilights parents. It’s a neat idea to “just use what is in the credits” but it doesn’t always work
As I said before, when it comes to the naming people tend to default to what it says in the credits.
Ya, lord is more widely used for both genders
Queen Elizabeth II has the title “Lord of Mann”, there is the title “Lord Mayor” for mayors of major cities in the UK no matter the gender,
there is the House of Lords of British Parliament made up of men and women with the title.
Likely other places but I’m more familiar with how there are a number of female lords in the UK.
Why again?
As for the previous generations Embers, just call them Ember (g1) or something, this is a “my little pony” website, but obviously with its focus on FiM
Lord can be gender-neutral in certain cultural contexts. So can King for that matter.
but shes not a lady, shes a dragon. Your thinking that these are humans and they arnt.
So in this case, its still lord.
This guy gets it. There’s nothing wrong with being called Princess Ember. The perception that princesses are always frail won’t change if we decide to hide the princess title from any character that isn’t frail.
For example, Princess Peach gets a pretty bad rap for being kidnapped all the time but people kind of forget she’s the Ruler of an Entire Kingdom, and when she’s missing from duty, the entire kingdom falls in disarray. I don’t know about you, but that doesnt sound like a weak, useless person to me. She is so good at diplomacy and leadership that she becomes the kingdom’s Single Point of Failure, which makes the kidnapping logical.
She’s credited as Princess Ember, she’ll be marketed as Princess Ember, and that’s how it’s going to stay.
