Well, I mean, maybe they watch ‘adult material’ in their spare time.  
But there’s a big leap from that, to ‘they are familiar with this specific character from the mid-to-late-game of an unfinished transformation-fetish webgame’  
My point, either way, was mostly ‘Hey, I know an Ember who is a tsundere dragon-lady and yet probably is entirely unknown to the writers. So, it’s not guaranteed that your Ember the tsundere dragon-lady is the basis of it either’

If we were saying stuff like that, there’s a certain other Ember the tsundere dragon-lady (she’s meant to have multiple personalities based on a branching story, but so far only the middle path is coded) in another game that I would find it quite surprising if they’d played.  
Because it’s a pornographic transformation game.  
I mean, I am a huge perverted nerd, so of course I’ve played it and recognized a lot of Ember, but I highly doubt the kind of people who write MLP are the kind of people who’d played that game.
