Yeah, I won’t object to Mattel being said to have better made girls’ toys, that seems fair enough.
And, ehhn, yeah probably the twist thing.
I’ll praise them on their doll quality compared to Hasbro, nothing else.
And lmao, kudos to you then, but I think it has more to do with kids twisting the legs and stuff and it snapping.
Mattel has burned me HARD.
(Seriously, be careful when giving Mattel praise, it’s done some… things.)
Also I don’t know how to not break toys because I am a clumsy oaf. What I’m saying is regular “drop tests”.
Are you a six year old girl? These toys were made for young children, not adults who know how to not break toys (unless ‘your’ toys are your kid(s)’, kudos to them for not breaking them). Parents weren’t happy about it, and it seemed to be a somewhat common issue. Google it if you’re skeptical. And looking at the more recent ones, compared to the old ones, I doubt they fixed it, judging from the leg joint part thing looks similar from before and doesn’t have looked like it changed.
My comment about that was made about a month ago, I don’t really know or care about either company, especially now, which is why I feel like I have to bring up something that seems to have pissed you off for some reason. I said that when I was thinking about the comparison between EQG to Monster High and Barbie.
That sort of happened with their instruments from the second movie, didn’t it?
They’re already going in the magical girls channel with the movie’s themes, why not go whole hog in and given them some accessories for their ponied up forms?
My EQG minis haven’t had even the slightest breakage, so if there was a problem there I bet they fixed it by now. The biggest problem with the older style Equestria Girls toys really is just what they look like at this point.
Mostly I am very annoyed at the implication of Mattel being in general better at making toys than Hasbro because I do buy toys in general And let me tell you, overall Hasbro toys are a better experience than Mattel.
Because you kept talking about Hasbro vs Mattel, and I really could care less about both companies or who makes the better toys, and the way you word things make it seem like you think I do care, idk man, I’m tired.
I don’t buy MLP merch or children’s toys in general, but seeing people complain about EQG Mini’s legs breaking off the first day and looking at the regular EQG dolls alone, I am going to question their quality.
Why do you keep bringing up how much you could care less?
And they are upping the quality, I think, it’s just happening much slower than it seems you’d like.
Eh, again could care less. But considering how terrible quality MLP toys, which seems to be one of their biggest product lines, I just thought they would up the quality or something, espicially with the EQG ones.
I probably won’t buy them either way though.
I was talking about Hasbro vs. Mattel in general.
And I think that Hasbro’s overall good at making toys, dude. And I’m not discounting the possibility that Mattel makes good girl’s toys.
In regards to MLP toys I’m pretty sure Hasbro makes them better than Mattel.
that last part’s a joke
Don’t get me wrong, both Hasbro and Mattel are probably crap, but we are talking about MLP toys here.
On the other hand, Mattel is so bad at boy’s toys they can’t even sell them well (I mean Matty Collector’s a straight nightmare).
It seems that each company dominates in opposite gender categories when comes to quality toys. Hmmm
Maybe even the Crappiest.
I could care less about small children’s toys, but if you honestly just compare EQG dolls to Mattel’s, you know what’s crap. From the looks of it, Mattel has at least some quality, for the girl’s toys at least.
Hey man, it’s just seeing Mattel being given praise over Hasbro is weird to me since they’ve dropped the ball in the boy’s toys department so hard.
In my experience Mattel is Crap.
Because MLP are boy’s toys, right?
And I haven’t. Looking at Barbie and Monster High Dolls compared to EQG is enough for me.
Mattel toys better than Hasbro’s?
Someone’s never shopped for boy’s toys.
I don’t know if kids really care about small details about that and are the toys even that accurate to the movies? They’re pretty terrible by design. Boxart doesn’t even resemble the movies.
Well that’s what I mean for the movie designs; the movie designs have to match up with the toy designs. So if it’d be more expensive to put horns on toys, they won’t have the Movie characters have horns either, because then kids would bitch at hasbro to stop being cheap and put the horns on the toys too :p
>>dear boy
lol okay.
Anyway, I was mostly talking about the EQG movie designs, not the actual toys.
But with the Minis, supposedly they are prone to break anyway (the legs seem to break on the first day, how sad) so, they’re pretty faulty by design already. And I know how cheap toys are made and designed, I’m just thinking it wouldn’t kill them to make something, I don’t know, not crappy for once? Oh wait, we’re talking about Hasbro. Why did I ever think they could produce Mattel quality toys?
Edited
Money my dear boy.
Horns are an additional thing that has to be added onto the mold and increase the risk of products breaking. And hasbro wants to make these things CHEAP.
Additionally, if you put a horn on someone, that means you can’t use the mold for another character who lacks a horn, meaning more molds have to be produced.
When they first made the series they were probably looking to make the toys as bargain bin cheap as possible to maximize their profit rations, hence no horns or tails (wings can be hooked into the back fairly easily so its not a mold issue like the horn would be)
Now that they’re looking to increase the quality of the toys, they’ve already established what the characters look like: no horns. So they can’t make toys with horns without making the toys not synch up with the show characters.
They are resorting to other ways to put horns on characters like Midnight sparkle’s glasses having the horn super blued on, but not for the “Normal” ponyed up twilight.
