“Pygmy” for the name, not “Pygmy Hedgehog”. Her cutie-mark is a PYGMY HEDGHEHOG, but Pygmy itself means small. It relates to her cutie-mark, being small can be related to shyness, and her being so strong is pretty funny with the name Pygmy.
 
Something being creative and something being contrived are two different things.

Lily Longsocks is sticking, but I refuse to use it. I’ll use it to indicate which pony I’m talking about, but I’ll never seriously use it. I hate that name.

I understand, do not fight over the naming of certain background characters, though I barely suggest names, remember that old mare from the Crystalling? I suggested Stubborn A. Jack because her cutiemark was the head of a donkey and in the credits was known as stubborn pony. Though it seems it never caught on. I’m not one for suggesting, but I am one for asking for suggestions, but sometimes I do cause mistakes, remember that battle between the names Palmetto Star and Tropical Dream? I am still sorry for that. As I said, I’m just more into asking for suggestions than making them.

Uh, the name Tender Taps was mentioned by the ballet instructor and his name is in the credits, did you forget to click reply on Ponypon and Vermillion?

This talk of how a ponies name should fit them by being based off there cutie mark, and I see in other places people talking of how we shouldn’t use that as the means to name them….
 
You know, maybe we should throw name ideas around and just see what sticks with most people and not make it all try to fit one means of naming them.
 
I hate naming ponies for how there model looks as it tends to be naming them after another pony and then we get a number with names almost the same.  
Some hate naming them for the cutie mark as some come off sounding just stupid or not fitting with how they act.  
Some hate giving them names based off what we see them do as they think it’s wrong to not use a name having to do with their talent.
 
No one is going to be happen with everything so let’s just not make a fuss over it and go with the names that stick for what ever reason.

Because as obscure as Longsocks is, it’s at least more creative than that.

How does “Lily Longsocks” pertain to her cutie-mark? Being strong isn’t nessarily her talent, just one of them. If it had been, she’d have some sort of strength-based cutie-mark.

Yeah, I’ve seen that image. I still think it’s incredibly stupid and contrived comparison. I hate that name and will never use it. Her name to me is Pygmy, as in a Pygmy Hedgehog, which makes it actually relevant to her talent/cutie-mark.
