I think so. I can understand the desire to spread the canon of a series, especially in the face of people who seemingly don't get the reference. People should understand the source material they're working with.

But, I worry when that sentiment expands to trying to stop people from sharing the head-canon that they like. I mean, a lot of what I like in this fandom is what people have been able to do by taking canon and expanding it or rewriting parts of it to take the characters to places beyond the scope of the 24 minute episodes. ]
