I just think it was meant that snowflakes naturally have six-fold radial symmetry, and being that The Crystal Empire is far north it’s probably not surprising that ponies would be inspired by it.
Star of David.
As a muslim who do not think too highly of the state of Israel, the amount of Star of David looking shapes in the show slightly puts me on edge.
