Driven insane after Spike’s death, she figured out how to harness the output of the Sun itself to destroy the ancient immortality magic. She tore off her own horn and used the last shred of magic she had to drive the horn into her heart. When the guards found her dead body, she was smiling and there were tears on her cheeks.

Never before in the Equestrian history had the leader been so well protected from any possible adversary. Their ruthless rule lasted for thousands of years. Princess Celestia was remembered as the one who created the nightmare and her name was forever cursed and forbidden.
