Despite how hurried her reformation was, I suppose it was interesting Twilight defeated her by actually reasoning with her, giving her a chance, and the choice, something nobody has ever given her. If Starlight was more insane, or sociopathic, Equestria would be history.
Of course as much of a grudge as she had, even she didn’t want to destroy all of Equestria. She just didn’t understand at first the severity of her actions. Ignorance is a truly dangerous thing.
She was the one villian who couldn’t be defeated by rainbow beam magic. Her secret was that she outwitted Twilight and friends instead of going horn-to-horn with elemental-boosted ponies.
In venturing north, the pilgrims discovered the truth of the old words…
“The fire fades, and the lords go without thrones.”
Yeah, It’s pretty messed up, but good
The episode kinda reminds me of the famed “Same as it Never Was” episode from the 2000s era TMNT cartoon. Which was considered one of the darkest TMNT episodes. (But it was pretty good.)
Yep
Even if it wasn’t stated out right, (there may be survivors) that implication makes this one of the darkest moments in the entire series.
What makes it even darker, is Glimmer was ||almost willing to risk this wasteland future happening, just to spite one pony. || Which is why some fans find it a bit difficult to forgive her. That moment might’ve made her far more dangerous then any other villain we’ve had. (Ironically, she’s basically a normal pony/person, while others were usually powerful monsters.)
It’s implied that there was mass genocide of the entire inhabitants of Equestria
