bad writing is bad no matter who wrote it or the subject at hand

Wait…those were REAL fanfics?!

I just find the plushie makers and collectors to be nicer people, not saying they’re all PERFECT, I just like the atmosphere more.

True, mocking the author’s terrible writing and questionable storytelling technique won’t fix anything, but it’s cathartic as hell. And maybe, when the author comes across it, they’ll feel ashamed and either strive to improve themselves, or better yet, just stop writing altogether and move on to something they have actual talent in.

Trust me sister, the women aren’t any better. Less vocal, yes, but not necessarily nicer. The lack of a Y chromosome does not make them special.

Some of these stories are deliberately over-the-top. Those are worth laughing at, because even the author is in on the joke.

People watch trashy tv shows like Jersey Shore for amusement, it’s the same thing here. Most of the “bad” fanfics are truly bad. If they are just a subpar fic by a guy who can’t write well, that’s one thing, but fanfics about someone living out their sexual fantasies with their alicorn OCs is just comedy gold and they deserve to be shown to the world for our amusement.

The vast majority of bronies are people. There’s not really a way to decipher one’s intentions just because they like what a show offers.

It’s perhaps sexist to say, out I consider the female members of the fandom to be more sane, less mean, and generally nicer all around.  
That doesn’t mean that all the males are bad, I just have bad experience with them as a whole, sad, but not much I can do. :/

And I choose to stay mostly in the older collector part and the plushie maker part of the fandom, the most sane and kind parts in my opinion.

Terrible fandom and everyone is ignorant.

So what that the L+T thing started as a counter troll. Is it such a bad thing to strive for? The fandom is huge, so there are going to be assholes who are going to be noticed in it. The vast majority of bronies are good people.

How do you think I stand being on the internet?
 
Even this site contributes to the weird herd morality that just “proves” pony fans are tools who are obnoxious.
 
But I try to disregard that, because the individuals here make my time here worth it.

Most of these “writers” don’t need constructive criticism…They need a psychiatrist.

And like every fandom, the bad apples are the loudest and most obnoxious of them all, overshadowing the good parts times 100. :c

I wouldn’t say the fandom in itself is terrible. It just has some bad apples, like every group in existence.

Soon I’ll have hundreds of tags on my filter. Oh well! :D

If it is hilariously bad, it’s still hilarious and I think the writers should be happy. Humor is humor, y’know! Humor is a good thing or else we wouldn’t all be mindlessly seeking it.

Implying most people aren’t ignorant.
 
I’d recommend just filtering the stuff you’re disgusted at, and conserve energy for things you think you could probably improve.
