It’s a headcanon that the sirens in MLP are the sirens depicted in those times, in real life. As if encounters with the Dazzlings a thousand years ago is how the myth was created. But, of course, the EQG version of our world could have a completely different timeline. That could mean that an ancient Rome era could’ve been a thousand years ago in EQG, instead of three thousand. Or, it could mean that the sirens weren’t a concept in whatever time ancient Rome would’ve been for that world, and weren’t until after. OR, they went through all that time, undetected.
 
ANYWAY, I believe it is said in the movie that Starswirl banished them a thousand years ago. So, the post may be wrong, anyway.
 
Either way, it’s all headcanon that there is a connection between them and ancient, Roman mythology at all in this case.

First when did they imply they had ever had any interacting with Ancient Rome and two the ancient Roman civilazation dates back to at least 3000 years ago not 5000.

I was under the impression they were at least 1000 years old since they were around during the settings “Ancient Rome” era.(though Ancient Rome was almost 5000 years ago, I say “at least”)
