Just like her parents :)
The videos - download them now while you can! :p
Honestly it’s possible.
Also, fantastic animation. Nothing like some good old Looney Tunes-esque slapstick.
Freakin’ lucky guy that his arms caught him that well!
This is a pretty typical way to lose control of all 4 limbs.
Given the surroundings and his success, though, I can’t help but think that he knew it was that shallow and just recorded this for laughs, heh - so he was able to roll instead of diving into the ground. I’m pretty sure you jump rather differently for those two things. One has a lot more lateral momentum, for one.
I don’t think it’s meant to be completely accurate… Accurate enough to look right for what we’re used to seeing ponies as, but not so accurate she can’t “tiptoe”
But wow, I looked this up, and dang, it’s not even the ball of their foot, it’s their tiptoes!
I was thinking they were more like digitigrade.
I guess it’s a lot easier when your foot is designed for it, though :q
Were we?
I guess it’s just one of the drawbacks of being, by far, the most intelligent :q
But… I thought this was more because other tissues grew faster than Spine, so the breaks would get filled in with other tissues instead of spinal tissue? I heard that somewhere, at least.
@warc9
Hopefully that instead of a C&D :p
@Biker Dash
She seems to mouth; “Applejack?” at the end. I think she’s kinda shocked, but about to spring into action?
@Background Pony #7228
Very much this. And holy crap - it gets way worse when you consider the angle her head has to be at in order to remain completely underwater, after diving in from that angle, even though she’s lying on her back at that last scene.
That’s like, a broken-neck angle O.o
@Mike
Pretty good point about sound effects.
Well, maybe, but it’s probably more like she tripped and hit her knee kind of pain, rather than spine-shattering/paralysis inducing pain.
I’m still going to say “ouch” in sympathy. Toon physics or not, that had to hurt.
Do we really need to bring real life physics and stuff into an animation that’s supposed to be similar to Looney Toons? Actually, the show follows that formula, too.
@Cirrus Light
Like it or not, but most cartoons with comedy that don’t have a specific age bracket generally have slapstick humour in it. It may not seem all that fun, but it’s part of classic comedy. Laughing at someone else’s misfortune is pretty good in my opinion. And it’s kind of hard to take someone getting hurt seriously if you hear a frying pan sound effect when they hit the ground from a high altitude instead of their spines shattering and stuff.
Yeah but it’s Applejack.
She’s been through worse. Also, she could just be using that position to come back up easier.
Silly or sad, this animation can be interpreted both ways
especially at the end where she just seems to go limp and does not come up for air, suggesting that she might have suffered a serious injury
