If nothing else, this looks worlds better than the costume designs for friendship games. Actually really like RD’s scarf and Fluttershy’s design.  
Of course, we haven’t seen the other 5, and they could look like puke for all we know.
 
 
On that note, Surprised they have these two on the advertisement for the movie, normally they always put the mascot character up on there and have Twilight for their ads.

Okay, so apparently this movie is about the mane six throwing a fashion show to try and save the camp from being shutdown.
 
Normally I’d think this plot would focus extra on rarity, but I thought that about friendship games having a sports focus and rainbow dash, but that had pretty much nothing to do with the actual plot.
 
So I’m betting the “fashion show to save a camp” plot ends up being borderline meaningless and it will focus on Twilight and sunset exploring magic.

I kinda hope Cinch shows up in this one as a recurring Denzel-Crocker-y villain, trying to put together enough evidence of Equestrian magic to get CHS shut down.
 
“So, I hear your little camp is holding a fundraiser.”  
“Well, you know, the economy the way it is, we’ve been having a lot of trouble–”  
“And I hear that Canterlot High School has volunteered to help you with the event.”  
“Oh, yeah, sure. The kids are really excited to help. It’s, uh, it should be fun.”  
“Indeed. Tell me: is Camp Everfree’s liability insurance up to date?”  
“Um… yeah, but–wait, is that a threat?”  
“Hm? Oh! No, no, no, nothing like that. Merely thinking out loud. You’ve… not heard about Canterlot High’s recent history, have you?”  
“Uh… no? Maybe? What’s that supposed to mean?”  
“Ohhh, you’ll find out soon enough.”

I hope there’s going to be references to Total Drama and Camp Lakebottom in this since theirs never any references to Teletoon cartoons in pop culture

I’d have thought it’d involve a camp or field trip and seemingly more rifts in space later on. In before Jason jokes. ;D

Well, my headcanon for this movie went out the window. I thought it was about the Humane 7 going to a different world and saving it from an evil force or something. Instead it’s about saving a summer camp with a fundraiser. What a load. But I’m going to give this movie the benefit of the doubt and go with what comes of this.

It’s weird. I used to dread the Equestria Girls movie. Now, I’m actually mildly excited about it. I hope this is at least as awesome as Rainbow Rocks!

I actually thought the same. Everfree Forest as a magical forest, where there are magical creatures.

I see, I didn’t watch the commentary. I think it might be the same Everfree, as the holes that Sci-Twi was opening up in FG looked similar to this. In this movie maybe Human World and Equestria may collide.

Well, they transferred her so they wouldn’t have to bring the pony Twilight back every time. They say as much on the commentary. Really Friendship Games could have been entirely free of pony Twilight. It’ll be interesting to see if this “Everfree” is the same one as in Equestria.
