Finally someone who makes sense. I hate this “you can consider it canon for now” excuses, like with the comics or creator comments. How can you discuss a show, when everyone has a different idea what is canon?

I would regard show as a Black Box. Only officially released episodes and scenes is canon, any additional “creator’s comments”, “Twitter messages”, “Q&A”, “Leaked scenes that were cut from final episode”, “writer’s thoughts”, “early scripts” is just an intermediate product that potentially can be incorporated to canon in future, but equally can be completely disregarded by the show. It’s like temporary variable in program.

These Scootaloo headcanons are honestly starting to get a lil dull.

Man, we just love to torture the hell out of poor Scoot, don’t we?

What if Scootaloo is the culmination of the Pegasus version of the Bene Gesserit, with ancient Pegasus scientists constantly breeding together the best of their generation, constantly pushing for a faster, stronger Pegasus?
 
Scootaloo is terrified that the instant she actually tries, her idol Rainbow Dash will be devastated at how Scoots is so much better.

I think what she has said about Scootaloo having parents that were never mentioned in show canon should be considered credible until proven otherwise.
 
You have to keep in mind that she always maintained the view that the Apple family had lost their parents and this was confirmed in two different episodes, “Apple Family Reunion” back in season 3 and then again during “Crusaders of the Lost Mark” in season 5.

And at a convention a few years ago, when someone in the audience (whom incidentally was actually a member of the target audience) asked some of the current showrunners if Scootaloo’s parents were dead, they replied, “Just because we haven’t seen them on-screen yet doesn’t mean that they’re dead.”

Thing is, though, since Lauren Faust isn’t working on the show anymore, can we take her word for Scootaloo’s parents as canon?
 
Mind you, I’d want to see Scootaloo’s parents (or at least any other relatives). She’s had in rough in the show. Sure, she and the other CMC finally got their cutie marks, but Scootaloo may never be able to fly, and she has no apparent relatives (as she had Rainbow Dash be her “sister” in spirit for the Sisterhoof Social, which is cool). She could be an orphan for all we know.
