Frankly, I would’ve been more surprised if Cadance’s kid wasn’t an alicorn.  
I must’ve been the only one not so surprised/shocked/horrified by that, and kinda saw it coming.
 
And personally, I don’t like that idea that “all alicorns have to earn the right to be one,” I like to think the 2 royal sisters were an exception to that making ‘em unique, and were born alicorns (like Flurry) rather then earn it like Twi’, and (according to books) Cadance. (To set them apart from them a bit.) So I have no beef with baby alicorns frankly.
 
Plus, I don’t see how a baby could earn being an alicorn, or what she could do to achieve that, or how they could make an episode out of that with a character whom can’t even talk. Especially, sense it’s likely she’s not going to age, and stay a baby for the rest of the series.

The show is still open, and there’s no way the show can capitalize on all opportunities it creates, and what the show doesn’t do will always seem better then what it does. Besides, it was never established that being an alicorn HAD to be earned, just that it could.

I was hoping they could make alicorns less of a joke.
 
Hoping the foal would turn out literally anything else. Alicorning based on destiny was already a stick in my craw, making it hereditary as well really misses out on some good opportunities to do things with the baby that might actually get me to care about her somewhere down the line, let alone liking her.
 
They expected us to buy that it was a thing earned, and I was hoping they could add something to her with that, but apparently not.
 
I just want good stories, and I hate it when the show keeps capping it’s capability to do so.
 
I’m sorry you don’t take my issues with it seriously, but I’m not complaining just to complaining just to complain, as the preferred narrative holds.

Well, this is a dynamic show, the writers can do whatever the hell they want with it… This isn’t like Game of Thrones where Martin decides he wants to stop adhering to his books, the books that he wrote BEFORE the show aired; that is somewhat worth the drama. For one, were we really expecting anything else? An alicorn gets knocked up by a unicorn whose sister also happens to be an alicorn… What do you suppose is gonna happen there? Honestly I couldn’t have anticipated anything else. Why is this a huge shocker to everyone? I don’t understand this whole alicorn drama thing… frankly, it’s just something for people to whine about, in my opinion. I’ve been waiting for this foal since the wedding, so I have no quarrel with this whatsoever.

Really… We had drama when Twilight became an alicorn, we had drama when Equestria Girls came out, we had drama with Derpygate, and look now… EVERYTHING IS FINE. This is minor compared to the change any of the aforementioned happenings brought. It’s a show. Let it evolve as the writers want it to.

It saddens me that this images like this exist. Do we really have nothing better to do than complain?

Why? the hiatus is gonna end in a while, so i’ll be able to keep watching, and thus i’m perfectly OK with what’s going on. Would the show right now i would get kinda mad, but since it isn’t ending now i think it’s safe to say that i have nothing to worry about.
