Well, Sunset Shimmer is a main character in the EqG-verse, true. There’s no way to call Blueblood, Trixie, or Chrysalis main characters, though.

But no matter how much I think about it, Star being on it has effectively leveled the intelligence I find on the vehicle.

^This. I agree with this. Although it should be clarified: her “run as a villain” is not ENTIRELY pointless to the plot of the show itself, but it IS entirely pointless to her own plight.

A filler type of character is usually a character that’s well filler. They have no significance to the plot. Any arc they get is insignificant at best and they usually have absolutely no part in the setting. These type of character can come and go and nothing could easily change which is why I said that everything about Glimmer besides those last 10 minutes is filler because if she had an semblance of the character established before that then those last 10 minutes wouldn’t have happened at all. It makes her run as a villain entirely pointless.

aunque sunset de nuevo alla sido reemplazo de nuevo y tomado su lugar de mane 7 por starlight glimmer en equestria ella todavia tiene al mundo humano y a las human mane y ahora en la pelicula que viene se uniran a las rainbooms las shadowbolts aparte que sunset es su lider y como se ve que la leyenda de everfree no va ser la ultima pelicula que veremos del universo de equestria girls con sunset ademas como ella dijo al final de los friendship games que en ese mundo que ella esta viviendo y lo considera como su segundo hogar y mundo adoptivo “que habra mas problemas magicos en este mundo” cuando se graduen de canterlot high sunset volvera a equestria para disculparse con celestia terminar sus estudios de magia vivir aventuras magicas con twilight las mane 5 y conocer a starlight glimmer ya que al final ella tendra que regresar al mundo humano para seguir siendo la guardiana del portal en el otro lado y mantener la magia controlada pero con la leyenda de everfree todo eso esta por cambiar la magia equestriana que sunset trajo de equestria con la corona de twilight en el pasado en baile de otoño esa magia junto con la magia del bosque everfree van a jugar un papel importante en el mundo humano al final el nacimiento de un arbol de la armonia mediante el poder combinados de las rainbooms THE LIGHT y el poder de las SHADOWBOLTS THE DARKNESS y que daran nacimineti a un nuevo poder THE CRYSTAL RAINBOOMS nombre mencionado en la cancion DANCE MAGIC cancion que fue creada y pasada a deleted y que esta como parte del DVD Bonus de la pelicula de los friendship games que como muchos dicen viene hacer la cancion de la graduacion de las rainbooms en canterlot high y las shadowbolts en la crystal prep como un preludio a EG 4

Well, Sunset could come back if they handle the “human” Sunset counterpart right. Then, Sunset can both stay (sales will not drop) and Sunset gets to go home to her old life.  
She can be a character akin to Maud that shows up when they can get her, and damnit, I want Twilight and Sunset in pony form to fight something together, teleporting all over it, blasting it with lasers, saying how they are the students of Celestia, and ending it with the two combeing of their power to unleash a mega blast….  
Oh, and Sunset should be a unicorn, but her Phoenix wings could come when she needs to fly and such.

No one wanted her demoted, it just would have been nice to have her around the version of the mane group we actually care about, even if it was a temporary setup.

Why does everyone want to demote Sunset so badly?
 
She’s the main lead of her own cast of characters. She has her own Mane 6 for Christs sakes!
 
As is, she’s effectively Twilights equal. Sending her back to Equestria serves simply to remove her status as lead.

Oh I agree removing Sunset from the EQG series would be a bad mistake. However I could at least see Sunset visiting Equestria to reconcile with Celestia at least.

I’m not saying anything about Starlight, really. It’s just that if they remove Sunset from EQG, they lose the only unique character that series has. Which makes the brand become redundant, which leads to poor sales. And especially now that they’ve just launched that new line of mini-figures I don’t the sense in them doing something that would diminish interest in the brand so drastically.
