Thanks. BTW, in some programs, e.g PhotoFilter and GIMP (and, probably Photoshop too), you can turn compression off when you save an image. You don’t need in a world where no one use 26k (not 56K, which is not popular ether) dial-up (JPEG was made in the 80s).
Fyi, just in case you don’t know; don’t use JPEG for in-development images. JPEG automatically compresses the file size every time it gets saved, which is great for conserving memory but awful when you realize that your nice, clean image is now smattered with wayward pixels. Dunno if this will even help you or anything, but there you go.

I highly approve of your cursor…
yeah it is much easier to use, sucks how out of date photoshop is, the svg is FARR easier to edit in inkscape, never used it before but im getting it to work. Love how easy it is to change color that is a giant task in photoshop. still cant mess with layered png and im not going to get adobe fireworks (why split it? oh yeah money)
Least now i can mess with SVGs ive been seeing everywhere.
Inkscape is free. It’ll probably be easier to use as well, but you’ll need to use the SVG version (>>1016515).
so thats why i was having issues, i dont normally deal with layered png’s. even photoshop elements + plugin couldnt separate the layers. yeah guess ill have to download this inkscape unless its a paid for thing than ill have to just find other methods.
If it’s not JPG or PSD (PSD can be really bad too, if you don’t have Photoshop [most programs like PhotoFilter or Panit Shop Pro get it completely wrong so that half the time they can’t read there own stuff], which I’m guessing you do, and even with Photoshop you can have issues with stuff that was made with older /newer versions) then, open the image in an image editor, click “save as”, and in the bar that at the bottom, change the file format.
If you’re using the SVG version of the template (>>1016515 and >>1019239), it’s best to edit that in Inkscape. It’s extremely easy to change the colors of the template in Inkscape - select the elements, then click the color you want them to be, and done.
I personally only work with the PNG template (I’m not sure if there’s a public upload of that or not), which requires Fireworks to edit, because it’s a layered PNG file. Trying to edit it in a program that can’t handle layered PNGs will be impossible to edit.
i also need transparency, but i suppose i could but the quality would suck and itd take forever to edit out the center using the magic selection tool.
Can’t you just take a screenshot of the pic and work with it?
if someone is able to make a PSD id be happy.
photoshop elements 13.1,
I tried converting the color profile
color changer brush
the quick mode color changer
photoshop elements + plugins
adjust color from the enhance menu and every option like adjust hue and color curves.
and a few other methods i cant remember. it was impervious.
You couldn’t change the colour of a PNG file? What program do you use?
Where is the right one than?
I spent like an hour+ trying to first get an SVG file to work then almost another hour trying to make the white part purple and gave up. Nothing worked, color changer nothing trying to edit the modes flatten image nothing worked. No matter what, i could not, at all, in any way change the color of that damn white background. It was impervious to everything.
