One event is all it took. One moment in time to tip the balance, and one choice to end it in dust and ashes, or harmony and prosperity.

You want to go back to the world you destroyed.
It was you who stopped Rainbow Dash from creating the sonic rainboom.
It was you who led the world to its destruction. But you cannot accept it.
You think you are above consequences.
-→ YES NO
Oh my god, how did I not even think of that quote? It’s INSANELY fitting for the episode.
She kept going because she wanted to feel like something she’s not, a hero.
Cue, Glimmer singing “What have I done.”
Yeah, some people are quite stubborn to admit when they were wrong, but in a way Twilight helped her realize the error of her ways, and showed her there was a different way she could handle things.
That’s what I’m saying though. She completely snapped because she knew was stuck between committing an atrocity beyond comprehension or admitting to herself that everything she’d ever tried to accomplish in her life was wrong. The fact that she genuinely thought she was the good guy doing the right thing, and was then presented with objective proof that all of her “good deeds” would bring about the literal end of the world completely broke her.
Couldn’t agree more. It was a moment of raw realization, after dreams of winning the fight she thought she had in the bag. In some cases, actions speak louder than words, and this episode truly demonstrates this point.
Actually, she came off as a bit sociopathic & a tag “psycho” to me during that scene, as while at first she looked horrified/regretful seeing the “bad future/present,” she was still willing to risk the present/future just to spite Twilight after that. (When she began threatening to tear the scroll, so Twilight can’t intervene again.) In that way… She might actually of been the most dangerous character in the show.
Luckily, Twilight’s kindness/mercy to her won in the end.
Is this the world you wanted?
