Right, I just realized there are ballerinas who walk on their toes (here’s a literal example :P). Shock absorption seems like a big issue to me, which is why, when I think of walking horses, a minotaur posture is what comes to my mind first.
Hmm. I can imagine it that way.
Kinda silly.
To answer that, look at birds (who are as basically digitigrade, as close to unguligrade as any biped comes). Those that stand for long periods (like storks and flamingos) have the ability to keep their leg bones in a straight line; their center of gravity remains over their feet.
What may be a weakness is the relatively small area of ground contact, making balance even more essential.
I always liked how sligs move and I would often imitate them. Makes walking/running all springy and bouncy, but I don’t think it’s very comfortable to stand with your legs zigzagging like this and your body leaning forward.
That would be interesting. As far as I can tell hooves for ponies are like toes for us.
So while this artist is mostly going for a human ish leg she still goes tip toe.
@Ardashir
Trixie is economical.
Someone will have to do a study/essay on the subject matter…
