So what do you do during your downtime? Read books? Study? Be motherly to your dragon? Pffft.
I’ll put up an animated version in a day or two. Someone told me about this wonderful thing called “symbols” in Fireworks that I want to play with a bit…

Yeah, it’s pretty good for this kind of stuff.
So Fireworks is a pretty good program for this kind of stuff? I almost universally hear people recomending inkscape.
The tracking would be the easy part, since Fireworks basically does all of that for you:
(Click for full size)
The top panel’s what I started with (except moved center; they start off-panel of course in the first frame)
I can convert those two drawings to symbols (second panel) and set them to move X distance in X direction in X number of frames, and it calculates all of that for me. Then I can tweak it however I want by draging those blue dots (each a frame) around.
Then I can edit one of the pictures as a symbol and add animation frames to it, and Fireworks literally does all the work of putting it together and timing it etc all by itself.
I don’t think the blink would be too hard, but it’s the animation of the flicking tail that I think would be difficult to do. I might try it though, since pretty much every other animation I made was done on a whim (and overall I’m proud of them).
For the record too, this was what was so heartbreaking about losing the first animation, since I made it before I knew what symbols were or how to use them, and made the track of it manually which took like an hour of repetitively going “Duplicate Frame, Click Pic, move X pixels right, duplicate frame, click pic, move X pixels right” etc etc. Then I lost it, then I found out about symbols inadvertenly while looking up if it was possible to recover fragmented Fireworks pics and someone was like “lol noob why didn’t you symbol?”
The animation itself wouldn’t be any harder than your air vent ear-flapping trixie, just tracking across the screen, which might make it a little trickier but I know Team Four Star have covered a shitload of times on the episode breakdowns.
By “pay grade” I mean my ability as an “animator”. Note the quotations.
Blinks, maybe. Tail whip I think is a bit above my pay grade…
I’ll try anything once though.
In the meantime, Shark Trixie featuring Twilight the Duck.
BASED BADUMSQUISH
If only it were just a shark…this is a land shark, widely considered the most dangerous species. They will attack anytime, anyplace, and are capable of expertly disguising their voice. The best way to fend off an attack is to hit the creature in the nose…though some specimens, such as the one depicted above, seemed inordinately repelled by the common wheel.
