Writers aren’t in charge of sequencing what they write. Who is more than likely doesn’t give a shit. It’s probably McCarthy or the director (don’t know who directs. XD )

It’s kind of like Fairly-Odd Parents. Episodes ain’t really interconnected that closely, but major changes like Poof are more apparent.

There are “fixed points in time” that designate the Equestrian timeline. These include:
  • Twilight’s arrival in Ponyville & Nightmare Moon’s return.
  • Discord’s release from stone (twice) and his making friends with Fluttershy.
  • Princess Cadadance’s marriage to Shining Armor and her subsequent pregnancy.
  • Twilight Sparkle’s ascension to Alicornhood.
  • The CMC’s getting their cutie marks.
  • various others I can’t think of right offhand.

The show is presented achronologically, so there’s no guarantee that any given episode temporally follows or precedes the next, except where those “fixed points in time” are concerned.

Possibly. It really depends on the star’s temperature, atmospheric conditions, orbit of the planet, and a few other factors that would be difficult to determine for Equestria. If however we assume a similar planetary atmosphere, a location in the habitable zone, and a star around 4000K or so (which is somewhere around the upper temperature limit for red dwarves), the Equestrian sky would actually look fairly similar to ours, albeit a bit lighter blue and with a bigger, more orange colored sun. Which actually is not far off form the way it appears on the show most of the time.

Given that Celestia controls the sun’s orbit, I don’t think the MLP planet’s year is based on revolutions around the sun.

Plus, a red dwarf would be easy to identify just by looking at it in the sky.

I actually think Equestria is a super earth type planet in a close orbit around a red dwarf star. It would explain why they need a team of ponies to manage weather and why the seasons flip around so rapidly.

Aye, I agree with that; the problem is when things like May the Best Pet Win! and Tanks for the Memories suggesting that the point where Rainbow adopted Tank, Fluttershy befriending Discord, the rescue of the Crystal Empire, Twilight’s ascension, the loss of the Elements of Harmony, the group’s victory over Tirek, and the first use of the Cutie Map took ~6-9 MONTHS at MOST

I know a lot can happen in that amount of time, but, DAMN.
F07E

ehhh, doesn’t really matter as there not supposed to be in order, aside from a handful, and even then those are ones that occur at the same time as one another.

Unless celestia really is that big of a troll, which is actually pretty likely all things considered…

Maybe there are a lot of volcanoes in Equestria, and winter has more to do with eruptions and atmospheric dust shrouds than it does with the tilt of the hemisphere relative to the Sun.

Self proclaimed expert
I just always thought the episodes weren’t in chronological order, yes they have things to separate them like Twilight being an Alicorn or the Crystal Empire being a location but nothing to say that this episode is directly after the last episode.
