I also find it very funny that we have all of these screen caps of the Back to the Future countdown logo from The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows’ original airing, and then three episodes later Pinkie makes a Back to the Future reference when she dons a Marty McFly costume and suggests time travel to help Twilight see what they were doing with Discord.

It really depends on the state and what kind of area (such as city or country). I have friends in Oregon who pronounce the u, and friends in Washington and California who don’t.

What the hell are you going on about? No background for their relationship? Who gives a crap. Their relationship to Twilight is all that matters. Her brother and sister-in-law, who have been married for three seasons now, are having a baby.
 
We don’t need lots of details on Cady and Shiny’s marriage. They’re married. We see them now and again, but they live “over there” and aren’t a primary focus. So now they’re having a baby. Because they’ve been married for an indeterminate period of time, and that’s something that happens. A lot.
 
Now we’ve had an episode about Pinkie having to keep her mouth shut about it ‘cuz party, and then we’re gonna have more episodes relating to it later, probably mostly from Twilight’s perspective.
 
They’re a side bit. They exist to advance the world at large, not to be focused on. We’ve got six characters that get focus. Every now and again, some other characters get focus for one episode at a time. That doesn’t mean we’re gonna get detailed, fleshed out information about them. That’d be ridiculous. The show can only do so much at a time.

It’s hard to call it “half-assed” when the show is very episodic (even now) to allow for more spontaneousness and better ways to insert merchandise. I mean, we learn Rarity has Sweetie Belle as a sister suddenly and new locations in Ponyville tend to appear randomly. The staff writes by the seat of their pants.

I tried to find the clip of QI where Rich Hall (an American comedian) starts telling a joke about his aunt and Stephen Fry thinks he says “ant”. It demonstrates one of the many differences with Commonwealth English. Oh well.

Cadance and Shining are plot devices always have been since they were half assly thrown into the show at least we’re even getting interesting situations with them at all but if you think we were going to get focus episodes on them to build them up then you clearly don’t watch this show much or you would know that’s not going to happen this is probably the best we’ll get with these two so stop trying to ruin it with your Hasbro quacking.
