And now, this became really, really gross.
Last time I checked it’s 12.5 in the US, not sure about Australia but most likely about 1-2 years higher at most.
Well, it depends entirely on the individual. I’ve heard of a girl menstruating at 9, but I have also heard of girls not starting until age 15. Though I think 13 is the average age of most girls when they start.
And I didn’t say that because Sweetie was twice as big it proved she was 10, in fact, I never said anything was proven. I only said that I assumed their age was around 10 based on their knowledge and behavior, and the size difference from when Sweetie was five merely supports my thesis. However, as it stands now, it is only a thesis, we still have not learned their ages yet that I know of
I heard ovulation can start as early as 10. Also, because Sweetie Belle is twice as big as she was when she was 5 doesn’t mean she’s 10. 10 is, AFAIK, the safe minimum for menstruation.
Not really, if you look at it. When we first saw the CMC, I would have guessed that they were around age 9 or 10 based on their intelligence level, and how they behave. (I assume Sweetie is the youngest of the three)
We have also seen Sweetie Bell on her fifth birthday party, being about half the size she is now, supporting the assumption that she was about 9 when we first saw her.
Now we have seen three winters pass since that time, suggesting that at least three years have passed since then, putting the crusaders at about 12 to 13 years old.
With this assumption, it would not be much of a surprise for them to be starting to ovulate, at least for their human counterparts. If you want to talk equine biology, they would start before their first birthday. However, even though they would be able to be impregnated before their first birthday, their bodies would likely not be able to handle a fetus, and they would lose the foal, but once they reach about 2 years old, they would have little problem birthing a healthy foal.
Based on that info, the Equestrian Crusaders would be more than old enough to have foals of their own. Now THERE is a disturbing thought for you!
Especially if it happens at the age the pony CMC are at now…
Getting your first period would be more scary, not something I’d be happy about. (If I were a li’l girl.)
I can see it now…
You’d think she’d know by now. Then again, in the US, parents and schools expect that the other do all the sex ed, which means kids don’t learn. Here in Australia, we learned sex ed in grades 5 & 6, the last two years of primary school.

I’d say they’re 9 or 10 in the top and, if I know America’s school system, 15 in the bottom.
According to Wikipedia, The average age of menarche is about 12.5 years in the United States,[3] 12.72 in Canada,[4] 12.9 in the UK[5] and 13.06 ± 0.10 years in Iceland.[6] A study on girls in Istanbul, Turkey found the median age at menarche to be 12.74 years.[sic]

Who doesn’t, in this day and age?
They do when it was late.
