Finished Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
It’s the first BioWare game that I’ve actually played from start to finish, and I gotta say, it was pretty damn good.
I mean, I do have issues with it. I feel like the first half of the story kinda drags it’s feet a bit too long for my liking, the combat starts feeling rather same-y and repetitive near the end (especially when most big enemy encounters just end up being some variation of “one hit, then dodge”), and I feel like there was some missed opportunity in terms of showing off how your choices affect the ending (though with how choice heavy BioWare games can be, I get the feeling I’d have this same issue with all their other games).
Also, this game crashes WAY MORE than any other PS5 game I’ve played so far. I think it happened on at least 3 or 4 different occasions, one of which was in the middle of a pretty lengthy cutscene.
Even with that, I’d still say this was a (mostly) great game overall, and it’s left me in the mood to try out other BioWare games, so there’s that. Just don’t expect me to touch Origins…
