Ya.
It had great visuals and a story that could’ve worked if it had more time to cook, but was honestly just mediocre all around.

Look, I agree 100%, but try telling that to Disney. They’re the ones who looked at that movie’s failure and decided “oh, it can’t possibly be because we made an unnecessary spin-off that was boring as sin and put it in theaters after brow-beating our audience into thinking that future Pixar movies would be exclusive to Disney+. No, it has to be because we drove the neo-nazis away by having two women kiss!”

It sounds ridiculous, but it lines up with all the other bigoted shit that the company’s been doing (between this and shelving that one Moon Girl episode).

I’m not giving up.
Infection AU’s can be interesting but it makes me cringe when a well established “super strong in universe” character is somehow done in by a simple infected who was previously a nameless background character.
If the infection can turn nameless fodder into endgame level threats then there’s a serious power scaling issue going on.

I kind of agree. I was pretty entertained bar a few things.

I think its mostly the concept thats unappealing for many. Many seem to think its more of a modern movie instead of a 80s/90s sci fi flick.
Of course many good stuff have bad premises but good execution.
Dont think Lightyear was great but I enjoyed it for what it was.
