Welcome to the “From Sketch to Screen” Thread!
Whether you’re a traditional artist transitioning to digital, a seasoned digital creator, or someone experimenting with both, this is a place where you can share your processes, ask questions, ask others for help with problems you’re running into, and geek out over your tools and setups.
What’s This Thread About?
This thread is all about discussing your art workflows—how you create and bring your art to life. Topics might include:
• The tools you use (e.g., pencil, mouse, tablet, apps, software).
• Your favorite digital-only or traditional-to-digital techniques and tools.
• Tips for transitioning from traditional to digital media.
• Challenges you’ve run into and how you’ve solved them.
• Recommendations for hardware, software, or techniques.
• Sharing videos or workshops that have really helped you or might help others.
• Questions by people who are getting started, or for folks looking for their next learning curve.
• Sharing your workspace/battlestation, apps, setup, and processes (photos encouraged, but optional!).

To keep the conversation fun and focused:
• SFW Content Only: This is a Safe for Work thread. Avoid discussions or images that wouldn’t be appropriate for all ages. Spoiler anything above Safe-Rated and be sure to provide a [warning] specifying the content that has been s33 3.0
• Be Respectful: Everyone’s process is unique. Let’s celebrate diversity in approaches, whether someone works on a budget laptop or a high-end tablet.
• Be Kind: For many, art and the processes they use is incredibly personal. And for many sharing their art, their tools, and their processes for the first time it is sometimes difficult to take criticism - even helpful criticism - without taking it personally. That goes both ways - GIVING constructive criticism can sometimes be as hard, and personal, as receiving it.
• Stay On Topic: Please keep discussions related to art workflows, tools, or creative processes.
• Constructive Criticism Only: If someone asks for feedback, offer advice kindly and constructively.
• No Self-Promotion: Sharing your workflow and tools is fine, but this isn’t the place to advertise commissions or social media.
• Ask Questions! If you’re curious about something—like what tablet to buy or how to digitize your sketches—this is the place to ask.
• It is ok to talk about AI Tools that you use in your process, including things like how you use PhotoShop Neural Filters and describing how you use editing tools to create

. But this really isn’t a thread for discussing AI Tools themselves - so please don’t get into detail on prompting or inpainting, etc. That’s really more suitable for a different thread.Let’s make this a welcoming space for fan artists to learn, share, and inspire each other. Happy creating!
