Yes to both…though granted some of the best ships are only available through the c-store, but the best gear is only earned in-game. The game has come a long way since launch, and I’d say some of the best stuff only happened after it went free-to-play. I will admit one of the only bog downsides is that you have to do a ton of grinding to get the resources needed to unlock a lot of the aforementioned gear. But then, it’s an MMO. Grinding is implied.
That’s true.
@Background Pony #56FF
Isn’t the Promethius a good sized ship as well? I know defiant is the smallest of all. Intrepid and Orion are about the same relative size I thought.
Something else just hit me as to why the Nebula would be perfect for Applejack. It’s in game ability is the tachyon grid…which allows it to reveal cloaked ships. So basically, it reveals hidden things, perfect for the Element of Honesty.
I decided on the Nebula for Applejack since it’s considered as the “workhorse” of the Federation, which is pretty much her role. Besides, Excelsiors should be considered clunkers by this time and we can’t let Rarity be the only one with a big ship.
The only reason I would think that it’s not the excelsior design is that by the time the Promethius came around it’s design and specs where too out of date to be as valuable in the fleet.
Although, I do see 1 reason why the Nebula might be AJ’s ship now that I’m thinking about it. Aside from the Promethius it’s the only ship in this group that can do a separation for combat. AJ would be able to dislodge the combat segment and keep the civilian members of the crew safe. OR the trees in the hydroponics bays.
I theorized that the Excelsior would be a better match for AJ, since it’s a reliable, rugged design.
Agreed on the Dreadnought statement.
@Zebasiz
AJ’s ship I would have figured be one of the noted reliable ships like Intrepid or the Ambassador which is the oldest of the ships shown here if I’m not mistaken. The Nebula is one of the science based ships out there so I figured it would be twilight’s 2nd choice.
Because it can be in three places at once?
Better than giving her a Galaxy Dreadnought. Talk about a Party Canon…
If you still haven’t, You can see them all under the Starfleet tag.
Rainbow Dash Commanding the ship that was described in-series as “A bunch of guns strapped to an engine” sounds right.
And Rarity in the Ambassador class also fits, since she’s always doing the social mingling.
Like others, it’s Applejack’s ship that seems to not fit her personality as well as the other’s ships.
Pinkie’s kinda makes sense since it’s got the weirdest ability out of all of ’em.
I didn’t see individual pics yet, as for Pinkie Pie. Someone is giving Pinkie Pie the most advanced ship out there? I’d like to see the reasoning for that one.
According to the individual pics, Twilight=Intrepid, Rarity=Ambassador, AJ=Nebula, Fluttershy=Olympic, Dash=Defiant, Pinkie=Prometheus.
Well ok I can admit I might be wrong although. I’m kind of sad that they didn’t use the Sovereign class starship as one of them. [Enterprise E] It’s probably the only ship as advanced as the Prometheus. That and it’s an awesome ship.
So which is the right pairing.
Well, you got Rainbow and Fluttershy right.
Granted, the saucer only needs to rely on it’s mini-core for short periods during MVA mode.
Indeed. It also has the most efficient warp drive of any Federation ship. The cores of the two engineering hulls join up when it’s all in one piece, creating a longer overall core. The “saucer” section just makes due with a little, inefficient core when it’s on its own.
Dash easily gets the Defiant. It’s a sturdy and small little ship that just is good for fighting. The only official warship of the federation.
Fluttershy gets the Olympic as it’s the medical ship.
Applejack gets the Intrepid Class which is a reliable ship capable of handling itself on without support for extended periods of time. [voyager lasted 7 years without federation resources.]
Pinkie Pie gets the Ambassador ship because well it’s used for more peaceful missions. Exploration and meeting new species.
Leaving Rarity with the most Stylish Nebula class. It looks the most unique of them all. Also the one shown is the reconfigured version of the class.
I looked 3 of these ships up on the wiki to be sure I knew what I was talking about.
@Phantom Rider
I see, thanks! I wish I knew anything about all the types of Star Trek ships. All I know is that some ships look like the Enterprise, and some ships look like the Millennium Falcon. And I’m pretty sure one of them is the Discovery One.
And yeah, I especially like Fluttershy in that highly impractical yet totally cute TOS-styled skirt.
The Prometheus is pretty sweet. Can split into three sections that can fight independently. It’s one of those “technically not a warship because the Federation doesn’t have those but yeah, it’s a warship” ships. Like the Defiant. Also, the ships here aren’t to scale. It’s pretty big, actually.
@Spiritus Arcane
Lol. Thanks. The nebula class was the only one whose class I wasn’t sure of.
And Nebula, whoops.
@Kirb
Ambassador, Intrepid, Olympic, Defiant and Prometheus class ships respectively.
They’re all classes from the actual shows, if not the ships themselves. (The one that looks like the Enterprise-C has a different number, so it’s another Ambassador-class ship.)
Anyway, from top to bottom, it’s the designs of Enterprise-C, Voyager, Farragut, Pasteur, Defiant, and Prometheus.
And yes, they look awesome in Trek uniforms. And Twi doing the Vulcan salute is so appropriate.
