I played those games myself, MI2 and MI Regulation A included back in my local arcade.
Despite the GTA 3- or San Andreas-ish character renders, I still enjoyed those games, with the games’ bonus content and challenges.
Because gameplay matters.

That’s North American fighting game community, being too fixated with their relevant fighters for their own good.
But it wasn’t the first time KOF went 3D. The Maximum Impact games were not that great.
But everyone complains because it now uses a 3D engine… Like EVERY OTHER POPULAR FIGHTING FRANCHISES!!!
