I actually wish there was a bit more AppleDash or ApplePie. Somehow, faux canon shipping is funner when it involves Applejack.
Also, Twilight not-shipping seems to give writers difficulty, which is hilarious seeing as she is the protagonist. XD
They share a lot of air time because theirs is an easy conflict to maintain. It’s also why every time they seem to be moving past their differences, they get arbitrarily drawn back into them for more easy drama. Kind of like Fluttershy and her chickenshit behavior.
You mentioned them easily getting into fights, as well as being slightly closer than other not-ships. Possibly because there’s a rather disproportionate number of RariJack episodes and skits in both the show and comic. XD

You’re right there, but we’re talking about couples that have a serious chance of developing a healthy relationship. It helps if they already care about each other before romantic love starts getting involved. Although I’m not saying that Rarity and Applejack don’t care about each other, but they already fight a lot with what little time they spend together. I think a relationship between them would get pretty violent (in the G-rated, cartoon kind of way, but still). I think they bicker enough as it is. Imagine how bad things would be if their decisions affected each other on a larger scale.

And when it comes to Rarity and Applejack, shipping is pretty much the only thing people care about.

That’s one of the major problems with this fandom.
Please see my previous post. Also, nearly all dialogue between AJ and Rarity that isn’t confrontational is awkward and almost forced.

Yeah, this episode and Rarity’s “For Rainbow Dash, I would do anything!”, and also her being the only pony that really empathizes with RD more often than not earlier are pointing rather strongly toward them being on a path to becoming a couple.
Apologies. That made more sense in my head. Andy Price is life is Chrys in disguise enacting evil upon comic readers by forcing RariJack into all his issues.
Which isn’t to say I don’t agree that RariJack is the One True Pairing(tm). >:D
