Oh, if there was this much griping and finger-wagging around it, I would. Believe me. I’m an equal-opportunity mocker.
No, if this was any character other than Spike everyone would give two cents and we would see more down votes.
Doubt you would be popping in with a smile if Rainbow Dash was at the other end.

your current filter.You know, you just know, that if this was any character other than Spike, everyone would be chuckling over what a funny bit of slapstick it was.
Same.
I also just shrugged, because it seems like typical cartoon physics, as in it caused absolutely no lasting harm.
Huh, you’re right. And yeah, I like subtle call-backs in the show like that.
I guess some find it a li’l harsher sense this Spike is literally a puppy, but I’m sure he’ll be ok.
Are you ignoring the fact that it was a accident, and the scene were she hugs him? Or are you deliberately ignoring that?
Then no idea why everyone punishes him instead of Flutters
Admittedly, at first when I first saw the new show I wanted him to have a voice like the original Spike, (Charlie Adler, I think it was) but his new voice is a bit cuter, and grew on me.
I think it was because at the time AJ and Spike were the only characters dating back to G1 that Hasbro had definite control over. Faust specifically was influential in the selection of Spike’s voice; literally everyone else involved with the show in any way wanted a Smeagol-esque voice for him.
I thought he was put in, because Faust wanted him, and other G1-era MLP characters in the show?
No, it isn’t funny for either one of them.
Because he is stuppid, useless and doesn’t contribute at all with the development of the series. he is just there because Hasbro ordered them to put the damn lizard on the show.
I don’t know I remember them getting hurt worse then this before. Apple Bloom & Sweetie Belle even got electrocuted before, and such.
It probably wasn’t acknowledged because he wasn’t actually hurt by the door. It just bumped him back, but it was exaggerated because it’s a cartoon.
With Spike it’s become a running thing with his bad luck. Most of the CMCs bring it upon themselves and that’s more in consequence form not physical pain.
@Itsthinking
I think that how it wasn’t even acknowledged Spike was hurt makes it worse.
@Jarkes
Think of it this way: the dog is Spike but not Spike. This Spike was raised with the knowledge of a dog confined in small living quarters having limited understanding of how the world works. He can’t even speak for himself when he’s hurt nor can guess in many cases why it’s happening. Not having the dragon body that can arguably take some of this doesn’t help either.
@MadBrony
With a username like that should you even be complaining?
He does get it disproportionately, partially because of his tough exterior. All goes out the window when he’s a dog.
Not to mention the ponies themselves are prone to “amusing cartoony injuries/violence/accidents” too. Even the cutesy CMC aren’t safe from that kinda thing.
Well yeah, that’s kind of the point. Though I’d imagine that if the characters engaged in anything like this to any animal people would care.
