“On a scale of one to me, I’d have to admit, yeah, this place is pretty awesome already… but it could always be a little more awesome. So, live from the moon, I, Rainbow Dash, do hereby claim this part of it to myself, now and until forever!”
“…she genuinely can’t be serious about this, can she? Really, when will she learn…”
So, after getting her suit emptied from all that helium last time, Rainbow Dash was finally able to set her hooves down on the moon… and promptly claim a section of it for herself. Obviously, Princess Luna is none too pleased about that.
Funny thing about these space suits, there’s a little knob on the back that controls how much air the life support system pumps out into the suit at any given time - easy for unicorns who’ve had time to study the suit layout to control, not so much for anyone else by themselves. It also just so happens it’s very clearly marked, so someone can always fiddle with it when they need to.

That would be cool
I think that’d take millions or billions of years, not less than a thousand.
Part of “Authors have no sense of scale”. It’s a trope. One that bothers me quite a bit since I kinda do, so when authors don’t things just kinda come off as silly to me.
@Barhandar
Or she just doesn’t need to breath at all.
|| Now I’m curious, what happens if she’s got an asphyxiation fetish and she’s asphyxiated for a thousand years? Okay, the body wouldn’t detect asphyxiation in vacuum because no CO2 build up (triggers the body’s alarm. No CO2 build up, no feeling of asphyxiation, CO2 outgasses from the lungs rather well in a vacuum) but the question really is: What happens when someone is consistently subjected to something so extreme nonstop for a huge period of time? Most things the senses would adapt to (sensory adaptation), but would they still do it for something so extreme? Imagine how that would effect the psyche over long periods O.o||
Or Luna CAN BREATHE IN SPACE!
That or the moon has an atmosphere in this universe and Rainbow just didn’t know about it.
Designed by unicorns for unicorns. Because unicorns are ||yay||s.
@Cirrus Light
Before the S4 premiere, I liked to headcanon the Mare in the Moon was made by Nightmare Moon throwing a hissy fit and stomping the pattern into the surface. Celestia stuffed her inside before she could add the pony equivalent of flipping the bird.
@Ichijoe
She was banished into the moon, not onto it, otherwise we wouldn’t expect those craters to appear across its surface with her face. Also headcanon it’s her horcrux and Celestia actually killed her, knowing her soul would go back to her horcrux, the moon.
…oh. That’s her wing.
It’s just what came to my mind for some reason.
