I got to see one three versions up close at Ushicon this weekend, and while they are indeed pretty cool looking, they all had the same kind of fit and finish errors that this one has. They’re also apparently made of soft vinyl, which irritated the vendor selling them, because one of the ones he’d ordered came with a wing detached and you can’t glue soft vinyl for $#!+.
 
I was pretty irritated myself to hear that the regular Funko Luna and Celestia figures are just straight up gone, and no more will ever be made. At the price those %#$*ers are going for on eBay I’ll just get an actual sculpture from Viistar or Krowzivitch.

As I may feel the same way, complaints get you nowhere. Yes, if I were to shite $80 on MLP gear it would be fan-made. The rareness would also be relatively the same, if not more rare than the industral made thing bit that’s the thing… It was made in a factory by machines. human hands include human body’s with human eyes that can see such mistakes, where as machines are programmed and don’t notice such things.  
Machine think: ITEM: RAINBOW_DASH_FIGURE COMPLETE.  
Human think: Damn! I need to redo the f-ups, then it will be good to go.  
Mechanical programs equal/lesser than human eyes and opinion.

If I were planning on getting one of these, I would appreciate knowing that there’s quality issues, however minor. (Granted, if I were going to drop $80 on MLP merch, I’d rather save up a bit more and commission a fan artist…)

Actually, for $80 it really ought to be better than this. If it were one of those $15 figures, then yeah, this would be acceptable.
 
Though I thought the you had one job tag was reserved for comically obvious mistakes, not cosmetic flaws that would be passable in cheaper products.
