in my mind I must pretend I understand this graph. Must look smart.
UPDATE WHEN
The attempt to make this graph has gone horribly right. :P
Clearly when he met fluttershy he began building up excess chaos inside of himself due to not performing evil, becoming more and more evil until he was able to burn off excess chaos in a magical act.
That graph is saying that Discord become more evil when he met Fluttershy and then less evil when he done more chaos.
Maybe Trixie takes up the bottom left corner because her linear function just keeps bouncing around in that area of the graph. Trixie’s graph is a space-filling curve with fractal dimension 2. That’s how cool she is. :P
If it didn’t have multiple unrelated metrics taking up parts of the same axis, I guess it would be a legible subjective thing. But even then there is no reason for Trixie to take up an area of the graph when everyone else has a linear function.
I think the grey box in the corner is trying to indicate that Trixie is neither very evil, nor a very interesting character.
Discord’s line seems to indicate that when he is not evil, he’s quite boring like Fluttershy (sorry, I’m just trying to interpret this graph thingy), and that he becomes more evil as he becomes a more interesting and chaotically powerful character, but that eventually he is so chaotic that he actually becomes less evil again (as he’s mostly just doing it for the lolz by that point).
Sombra started off from nothing, but became really evil very quickly, even though he never had much on-screen characterisation beyond being evil (which it seems is why he doesn’t go very far along the x-axis).
And it seems as though, as Chrysalis gained in characterisation, she quickly grew in evilness in the beginning, and then fell off to not being evil at all (through depictions like chibi-Chryssy).
And Night Mare Moon’s evilness seems to just oscillate slightly depending on how much characterisation she is given in a given work. Hmm…
All this is if I’m reading the graph correctly, yeah? xD
