Well, Discord of this world was a bit more violent and off hinged. With the war against the two sisters, he had to be a bit more serious with his choice of warriors. {Though he often changed up his generals when he got bored, or put someone else in charge, like little kids, so he could have some fun in the war.}

I think you got Discord mixed up with Khorne. Death and destruction are not Discord’s style. A dead toy would not amuse him.

Of course, there’s also the Destructicorns: black and red garrish alicorns that only think of killing and spilling blood in the name of Discord. Not very bright but incredibly powerful destruction magic. Basically beserkers that Discord created.

Maturity, power level and knowledge. As well, they are artificial, not natural so they won’t have as strong a connection to elements and such, but still much better than the regular pony. Celestia herself is the one who gives them their powers and longevity. Some of them could reach god like powers, but that’s if they survive. Since the Shimmerverse has some basing in Warhammer, even with demi-god level powers it’s tough facing some foes.

I’m guessing the difference between alicorn saints and alicorn gods is maturity?

Well, as I stated before, they are more like living saints, other than a few alicorn gods. {Though, the gods usually vary on the species and types.} With said living saints focused on certain terrains: Sea campaigns, deserts, etc.

Being an alicorn should mean something more than just having wings and a horn. As each of the four princesses has a domain they rule over, if you are going to introduce a new alicorn they too should have a domain of their own which fits within the setting because fitting the setting is the litmus test of any OC.
 
How does your Shimmerverse compare?

I would have preferred a flamberge to the actual daedric greatsword design.

Like I do with my Shimmerverse, with having proto-alicorns as living saints uplifted by Celestia herself. They aren’t as strong as gods, but near demi-god kind of status and help deal with larger and more powerful foes facing Equestria.

To be fair, daedric arms and armor are black and red. They are forged with the hearts of daedra so being edgy is kind of a foregone conclusion.
 
What is more disagreeable than the color scheme is that he is an alicorn. Who the hell is he? What is his domain? What has he done to earn both alicorn status and a set of extremely rare armor? This looks like a classic case of an overpowered OC.

I really don’t mind any of that, though the mane and tail aren’t well drawn to emphasis darkness. It’s a bit jarring.

You know it’s funny. I’ve been in this fandom for years now and I rarely ever saw any black and red characters other than in parodies making fun of the combination. So it’s really moreso the backlash against the color combination that caused it to grow out of proportion than those that generally tried to have such characters.

That’s not the only reason this is edgy. It’s an Alicorn, the armor it’s wearing, the red magic glow, the swords design, and the mane and tail looks like “shadows” or “darkness”.

theres hundreds of colour combinations you can use to make a “cool” OC  
black and red is made fun of because it’s seriously overused in all “dark spooky and badass” characters.  
it’s so unoriginal that it’s just made a joke.
 
i mean the colours are just fine together; as with any saturated colour with black
 
but just imagine going and sitting down and being like “hmmmmmm i need to make a character, what colours should i use.. oh i know! BLACK AND RED! My character will surely stand out from the rest!”
 
it’s made fun of for a reason and that reason being uncreativity.  
i just hope people realize that there are other colours in the colour wheel that you can use for a decent ‘badass’ character

I always found it off that there were no flamberges in any of the Elder Scrolls games.

Agreed 100%, I also like ‘edgy’ too.

You know, black and red are my favorite colors. I find it really sad that they’re just associated, together I mean, as ‘EDGY’.
 
I honestly find the armor and such with this character quite nice.
