I know that’s how the fandom sees it, which is ironic because that is almost the opposite of what we’ve seen in the show.
There might be a few gay characters in the show, but its obvious that heterosexual relationships are the norm.

Yeah, I understand how you feel. My favorite background character is the techie kid in the bow tie with brown hair, and everytime I mention or draw him in art, all I hear, “oh hes gay”. Yeah, I totally get the hypocrisy part mate, your not alone. :( you get ganged up sometimes, but thts how fandoms are. You just get use to it and move on.
I actually don’t mind LyraBon. Don’t really care. They’ve always been seen together. (Though I don’t mind this ship either.) DJ/Octavia really annoys me though. The fact that bronies put them together because it was f/f. Now if people weren’t on “omg, its straight ew” on things like SoarinDash for example, then f/f would be just another thing I could care less about. It’s the hypocrisy that annoys me the most.
My OTP gets the occasional slam and drama, while others go to Oct/DJ and go “OMG SO HAWT”.
It doesn’t ruin anything for me either, but I totally understand your point and agree mate.

As long as the LyraBon stuff is cute and/or fun (see: the “Silly Lyra” comics), I don’t mind, even if it’s getting a bit overexposed; and at least there was a canon basis for the pairing, however slim, before the fandom got involved.

As they’re both musicians, I can certainly accept that they’ve met and even that they know each other. Having them as roommates in the show felt like a step too far to me, but not to the point of ruining anything for me.
This is how I feel about Octavia and DJ. 2 random ponies completely forced to be together. They never met before the fan pandering.
Yeah, I have to agree with you on that. It has been pushed. I was okay with it at first, but now, its become annoying, say what you want about me, but I don’t care.
