As brilliant as a side series devoted to CMC sounds like, I’m pretty sure it will turn out to be disappointingly self-aware, waste many potentials, switch to pandering to increase rating, be a big fanservicing hugbox, or….
 
I really need to stop. (Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate the CMC. I just think their progress needn’t be made into a side series.)

Don’t get me wrong, a focused subtitle like that would be amazing. It would lead way to an imaginative, focused lore and narrative outside of the generic High School setting.
 
But let’s be realistic here, we’re not going to get the next Gravity Falls out of Equestria Girls. At least not yet.
 
Let’s all just hope that the MLP Creative Lead Job Offering leads to a spinoff series rather than the end of Friendship is Magic. It seems unlikely that FiM would end within the timespan of when a new series would be developed simply because of the existence of the movie. An Equestria Girls spinoff series could be a likely candidate for the person who got that job.

For all we know it very well might be.

Exactly. It’s all speculation at this point. I’m thinking Legends of Everfree could be a TV series. It wouldn’t be the only TV series with Legends in the title that’s supposed to premiere in 2016. Though I only know of one other.

This picture is fake. Legend of Everfree is real, but that subtitle doesn’t lend itself to a being tv series. It’s definitely more suited to just be another movie.
 
If there was going to be a tv series, it’d have a broader, more generic name.

I would totally watch an Equestria Girls series though. These shorts show that they’ve gotten pretty good at animating pony humans.

When I heard about the “confirmed” Equestria Academy series I was not excited. Then I found out EQG screwed up and the series was fake only a few weeks ago. For something I thought I didn’t care about, that was really dissapointing.
 
I don’t want to put too much of my hope into this incase it becomes another “confirmed” series. But MLP does deserve a side series of some sort. I always expected it to be a CMC series though.
