Little edit I made to this screenshot when it first appeared 2 years ago.

Well, I’m from germany and the german version literally says Rubin(e) and still does so in the later/newer games.
I was pretty confused when I found out the normal spelling and pronounciation for the english versions.
And yeah it is extremely weird how the spelling is all over the place.
My inner-fanboy gets annoyed they don’t call them “rupees” like every other Zelda game.

Yeah, I always get the name of it wrong. You can also get it in “Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s” Fireworks festival.
Isn’t the “Magic Hand” supposed to be called “Ultra Hand”?
WL4 & River City Ransom are the only games I can think of now with that bit in it.
I like how Nintendo often references it’s obscure games/products/history in their games. In fact, that “Lego” level in “Super Mario Land 2” is actually made of N&B blocks, a Lego-like line of toy building blocks Nintendo used to make back when they were a toy/gadget/nick-nack company.
Gunpei Yokoi’s “Magic Hand” gadget toy (which he made before inventing G&W & Gameboy) also cameos in some games like “Balloon Kid,” and “Wario Ware.”
Oooh, nice to know it’s an uncommon gag.
Yup, the shopkeeper does resemble G&W. Still surprised on the shopkeeper’s role in the game.
They also had the “free smile” bit in some of the shops in other games like “River City Ransom.”
Also, ever notice the shop-keeper in WL4 looks like Mr. G&W kinda? (WL4 came out the same year as SSB Melee.)
wasn’t there a minuette (not colgate but a twilight recolor with colgate’s colors) version too?

P.S Trixie is adorable as always.
