Actually I’m not criticizing the realism of those scenes - no, those actually work out pretty darn well IRL. For one thing, the standards we have for radiation shielding are WAY higher than they need to be - they’re based on errant figures, but you’ll get murdered if you try to tell some agency that, “hey, we should allow people to get exposed to more radiation.” so nothing’s really been done to correct them…
Mostly because most politicians are kind of idiots who’s confidence far exceeds their actual knowledge of a topic…
Well, yeah, it’s Hollywood, so we can’t very well expect all of the physics to be 100% sound. That’d make for a pretty short movie and a pretty dead Matt Damon xD .
What’s funny, is just from my aerospace knowledge, I knew they would have to || get extra performance out of the MAV before they mentioned it. Also, that scene with him digging up the RTG and putting it in the cabin with him was freaking priceless xD ||

Finally saw it a few weeks ago. It was freaking amazing. Gotta be my favorite movie of all time, now, close second to Interstellar.

Very close, ’cause Interstellar was pretty fantastic, too…
I won’t ruin anything, yo. I just really enjoyed the movie. The cast is great, the pacing is great, and the moments themselves are great.
All of this is in my own personal opinion of course, but still, I highly recommend watching it.
He needed to be redeemed after being crazy and villainously deluded in Interstellar :p
I still need to see this movie, though. Tomorrow or this weekend.
