No, but I would like to join.
I thought only Chad Rocco and his acolytes hated Cadance. Or are you part of that clique?
I never really cared for Sombra, but Cadance sucks.
Ahh, fair enough. For me though, they’re ALL Best Pony! :D
(except King Sombra. He is Worst Pony EVAR :P)
I didn’t say I hated Twilight. In fact, she’s one of my favorite ponies, but she’s not Best Pony.
I beg to differ. Twiley is best pony to me. I find booklovers like Twiley adorable. :D
Yeah, but this is not true at all.
Really? You couldn’t have just gone to the Pinkie Pie version instead?
_That’s fair enough, and I mean that sincerely :) because a lot of other people combine the theme with Twilight’s development for one major focus. Me personally, if the theme* is important enough, I consider it its’ own separate focus of a show/movie/videogame/etc.
Let’s use Mass Effect 3 as a good example of having two well-developed, but separate primary foci: You have one focus being on the conclusion of Shepard’s story, and the other on the theme of overcoming differences in order to work together to stop the Reapers. They’re intertwined, yes, but Shepard’s story would be concluded with, or without, the galaxy coming together to overcome the Reapers. Shepard ushers the process of coming together along, but that does not diminish either the theme, or Shepard’s conclusion; they coexist peacefully, and help enhance the narrative as a result.
*(Theme here means “What a story is about.”)
Well, we don’t have to agree to disagree, but maybe. ;) I was counting learning the magic of friendship as being part of Twilight’s development and journey, hence the only one focus. :)
Then I guess we have to agree to disagree. I consider the show to have two primary foci: Twilight’s development and journey, and learning the magic of friendship (the theme).
Sorry to split hairs, but you can’t have multiple primary foci. Primary means “the first”, and there can’t be more than one thing that comes first. I’d say that “primary” is just a straight-up synonym for “main”. xD
I would say that it was a primary focus, not the main focus. It may seem like I’m splitting hairs on the issue, but to me main focus implies one major focus, whereas there can be multiple primary foci.
How is Twiley’s story not the main focus of the show? It’s about her and her evolving friendships.
As opposed to the EqG movies, in which Sunny is the main focus of the story. :)
